Mealime has closed: how to keep meal planning simple

Mealime shut down on 21 October 2026. Here's what happened, what your options are, and how to keep your weekly meal planning on track.

Mealime — the meal-planning app many people relied on for weeknight dinners — closed on 21 October 2026. Its users are being pointed towards a meal tool inside US supermarket apps, which is no help at all if you shop in the UK or anywhere else.

If you're one of the people suddenly without a meal planner, here's how to keep things simple.

What made Mealime work

Mealime's magic was never really the recipes — it was the removal of decisions. Pick meals, get a grocery list, cook. Anything you move to should keep that feeling:

  • A plan for the whole week, not one dinner at a time
  • A merged grocery list so you shop once
  • Swaps for the nights you don't fancy what's planned
  • Your real constraints — calories, diet, dislikes, how many mouths you're feeding

What we built FuelPlan Pro to do

FuelPlan Pro plans your whole week in seconds: a 7-day meal plan built from 2,000+ recipes around your calorie target, diet and dislikes, with the shopping list merged and grouped by aisle. Don't fancy Tuesday's dinner? Swap it for something that still fits your targets.

Because it's built for the whole picture, it also does the things a pure meal planner never could: guided workouts (kettlebell, dumbbell, HIIT, bands, yoga), optional fasting schedules, and an AI coach report on your week.

It works in the UK — UK ingredients, metric or UK measures, and pricing in pounds: 7 days free, then £4.99 a month or £39.99 a year.

Making the switch painless

  1. Start with your staples. Set your diet preferences and dislikes first — the plan quality jumps immediately.
  2. Plan before you shop. Generate your week on a Sunday, take the list to the shop, and you're done.
  3. Use swaps, not willpower. The plan should bend to your week, not the other way round.
